Plot Summary:

The story revolves around a complex incident from 29 years ago that changed the lives of two generations at the rapidly modernizing Renhe Hospital in Xincheng. During an emergency treatment for a traffic accident victim, the patient suffered a fatal allergic reaction, leading to suspicions and the eventual forced resignation of the night-shift nurse, Zhang Shumei. Her 4-year-old daughter, Wang Wang (later portrayed as Lin Huan by Cao Lu), was bullied and got into a fight due to rumors about her mother, and was later kidnapped on her way home.

Devastated and unable to prove her innocence, Zhang Shumei eventually took her own life two years later. Thirty years on, Dr. Fu Baiwen, who remained silent about the incident, has become the hospital director. Lu Shenhui, the daughter of the deceased patient, trained by Dr. Fu, is now a leading cardiologist. She repeatedly clashes with the department head, Yang Fan, due to her outspoken stance against prioritizing profit over patients.

Around the same time, Zhang Shumei's son, Zhuang Shu, returns from abroad as a skilled doctor. Joining the hospital, he assists Lu Shenhui repeatedly, and they develop a romantic connection. Together, they investigate the long-buried case and search for Zhuang Shu’s lost sister.
